Here are a few truths about moms and wine. Most of us like it and most of us admit to being in a rut.
Now if you're an oenophile with oodles of time on your hands, good for you please let me know when you want me to come over for dinner. I adore women that are confident and knowledgeable about wines. However, I don't think they are in the majority.
Most moms I know don't have time to hunt down new wines. What happens? We end up drinking the same boring wine again and again and never branch out. We have a wine shop we go to, but we don't have a person who guides us and talks to us on our level. It's time to make drinking wine fun again. Wine Simple is changing that with an interactive website that matches wines to your tastes and then delivers them to your door. Friends, it doesn't get much better than that!
Testing Wine Simple was easy and fun. Start with a simple "scientific Taste Quiz." It's just seven quick questions all about personal taste. Questions like "How do you think coffee tastes best?" For me, the answer was "I don't like coffee." Tap your way through all the questions and a few seconds later the Wine Simple algorithm kicks in.
There's also an option to rule out certain types of varietals (I don't like Zinfandel so I ruled all those out). Wine Simple gathers all the information about your tastes and adjust to your preferences.
Wine Simple has figured out a way to match your tastes to affordable wines you'll love. After my quiz, I got my taste profile.
Once you know what you like, it's time to get the wine at your doorstep. Wine Simple gives your options. You get to pick how you want your wine delivered. You can buy a box at a time or have things sent to you each month (yay!). Either way, you'll get three wines in a box. Pick from red, white or a mixed box. For my starter box, I got a mix--two whites and a red. The cost is reasonable: a box of three costs $58 with delivery.
Delivery was fast and efficient--the wines ship in a container that protects against breakage.
The big question is how did they taste? In a nutshell, the box was a delightful surprise. I'd only tasted one of the three wines before. My favorite was the Winzerkeller Andau Gruner Veltliner it was dry and crisp and great with all the fish recipes we make. I also loved the Coltibuono RS, Chianti Classico. Chianti is one of my favorite everyday drinkable wines. I like it with pasta or light meats or just about anything from the crockpot. I have neglected to get Chianti's for a long while, it was nice to put it back on my radar.
Wine Simple made it fun to try new things. I admit to feeling intimidated at wine tastings and wine stores. I feel misinformed and uneducated. Wine Simple lets you just play with wine. There's no pressure. You like what you like. Isn't that the way it should be when it comes to wine?
To keep track of what works and what doesn't, there's a rating system. Wine Simple sends you and email as follow-up. Leave notes about what you like and don't like. All the data will be stored so you get more of what you like.
$58 is a great rate to get three fun, flavorful bottles of wine. Sent to you, stress free. It's time to have fun with wine again. That's why Wine Simple works for me.
