Moms are pretty incredible. Not only do we nurture and take care of our kids and our families, many of us are also working mothers who just happen to run major corporations, websites and non-profits. Let's face it; we pretty much rule the world and Working Mother magazine recently recognized some incredible moms and their achievements in their 2011 Working Mothers of the Year list.
Working Mother magazine asked companies from their 100 Best Companies list to honor "inspiring moms who love their work, adore their families and take time to support their peers." This also included moms who have made a significant contribution to their community or company as mentors and leaders as well as moms that have overcome personal or professional obstacles. As Working Mother noted, "their stories'??their lives'??show us how to get it done."
'??Working mothers need visible role models of success in our chosen lifestyle,'? said Carol Evans, President, Working Mother Media. '??From the single mother who excels at work while raising her daughter with rheumatoid arthritis to the mother of two with the record for the most arguments in front of the Supreme Court, two of which were made while pregnant, these women are shining examples of moms at the top of their game at work and at home.'?
The recipients of the Working Mothers of the Year are being honored at Working Mother'??s Work Life Congress this week in New York City from October 18-20.
A complete list of winners and profiles for all the honorees can be found at workingmother.com/WMOTY. A full list of the Working Mothers of the Year also appears in the November 2011 issue of Working Mother.
