Moms know all about mini emergencies. We experience them daily. Luckily, the folks at Mr. and Mrs. compiled exactly what I would put in my emergency kit (if I had the time create one myself) to prevent a mommy meltdowns and minor catastrophes. Best of all, everything in the kit is so miniature that you can easily keep it in your bag or car at all times.
The Minimergency Kit includes: crayons, fun adhesive bandages, playing cards, lip balm, breath freshener, dental floss, emery board, hair elastics, earring backs, mending kit, stain remover, deodorant towelette, pain reliever, caffeine gum, facial tissues and thermometer. Items are packaged in a chic silver, zippered bag that is both fabulous and teeny, tiny.
I can think of a situation that would make me grateful for every item in the kit, like all those mornings I leave the house with my lips so painfully dry, I find myself licking them over and over and, of course, I didn't bring my lip balm. And how about those times you have something stuck in your teeth and you know you won't be home for hours?
If that doesn't hit home, I'm sure this scenario will. Last weekend, we took the kids out to lunch, but the restaurant didn't have crayons. I had been looking forward to this lunch all week and my husband was giving me that "I told you the kids are no fun to take to a restaurant" look. That's no mini emergency. I whipped out my Minimergency Kit in seconds and we had crayons, fun bandages and playing cards to amuse them. So, then I could order a margarita with no meltdowns in sight.
