The Comforts of Home Found in a Bathrobe and Slippers

The two times in my life that I shopped for a bathrobe and slippers were for college and for the birth of my first daughter. Both times, I was hoping to embody the comforts of home in these two items: a bathrobe to keep me warm and cozy and slippers to keep my feet clean and comfortable. Did it work? You bet.

I even found shopping for my bathrobe and slippers soothing. Knowing that I was choosing something for such momentous times in my life forced me to think about what makes me feel comforted. I decided I needed soft fabric and design details that make me feel special. I was nervous about leaving home for the first time (college) and about being in the hospital for the first time (baby) and when I thought about my brand new bathrobe and slippers, I felt better. It sounds silly, but it was like I purchased a security blanket.

Garnet Hill has a knack for choosing comfortable sleepwear and lounge wear that is also stylish and fresh. The above Green Cotton Terry Robe is over-sized, so it will fit over your tummy before and after baby and is made from organic, high quality cotton terry. Made in Turkey and personalization is available.

Acorn designed these spa-inspiredTerry Thong Slippers for Garnet Hill and I don't think I've ever seen a lovelier slipper. Made from microfiber terry and trimmed with either seersucker or flowers, these slippers can be worn indoors and out and are machine washable.
