T.J. Maxx & Marshalls Back to School Preview

view

I recently attended the editor's back to school preview for T.J. Maxx & Marshalls. The event took place at the Hudson Hotel rooftop, which was quite the setting and view. I was immediately greeted and instructed to pick a bag (filled with goodies). I chose the cobalt blue one pictured below. Then, a decadent lunch was served, followed by mom expert, Audrey McClelland (Mom Generations), showing us editors the latest trends for moms and kids. For moms you can expect to see patterned jeans (ikat printed and floral), colorful bags, updated loafers and blouses with statement necklaces. For boys you can expect to see sports geared clothing and lots of layering, and for girls stripes of all sizes. All kids will enjoy the fun gadgets the stores have to offer, like a neon rubber calculator and tape dispensers in the shapes of animals.

We even played some store trivia, and I scored a Kate Spade silk scarf from T.J. Maxx--at half off, might I add! Just one of the many benefits of shopping there. All the name brands at a fraction of the cost.

One of my favorite mom looks was this layered one (pictured above), working from day to night. Mixing prints and patterns is huge this season, and this demonstrates that perfectly. Mom is wearing printed jeans with a colorblocked cardi. I also fell in love with this neon Equipment sheer blouse. There's something so fun and quirky about wearing lemons and limes. Might I recommend mixing it with a striped sweater?
