Becoming green is a battle. I make my own household cleaner, use eco-friendly diapers on Oliver and eat local and organic whenever possible. But then again I probably waste more water than I should, kick myself for forgetting reusable shopping bags (often) and love a party. You might be asking yourself what a party has to do with anything, right? Well, turns out that parties and events generate the second largest amount of waste in the USA! Major buzzkill. Especially with the holidays right around the corner. Tis the season to celebrate but I know my set-of-four dinnerware will only get me so far.
Luckily there are brands out there who have recognized both the need to party and save our planet. Susty Party for instance. Founded by Emily Doubilet and Jessica Holsey, these ladies are creating responsibly made, eco-friendly party supplies and compostable tableware. Susty Party strives to (as they state on their website) '??make parties more sustainable, and sustainability a little more fun.'? Their cups, plates, bowls and straws all come in great colors and patterns in addition to the '??natural'? color we usually equate with being green. They are so green they have been certified as a YouthTrade company and B Corporation. Which means you have another excuse to celebrate. Looks like the road to green could actually be fun.
