It is so easy to get caught up in the endless days of the summer, and put learning aside for maxing and relaxing on the beach, vacations and fun outside. While we want some R&R, we want to keep our children stimulated, busy and entertained! For the summer, we have a been enjoying a lot of creative play and we also introduced family game night and having been enjoying a selection of games from Lakeshore Learning, a company whose products are designed to help children retail what they have learned during the school year and to help practice new skills.

This summer, no matter the age of your children, keep them occupied with some of Lakeshore Learning'??s activities:

Ages 3-6:

1. Linking Number Monkeys: The cute game involves the linking of monkeys to build easy sequences and help develop early math skills. My four-year-old loved the different colors as she learned about new numbers between 1 to 30. It was also safe for my baby, who looked at the monkeys, and of course put them in her mouth!

2. Pop & Win Letter Writing Game: This fun-to-play game helps kids print the entire alphabet while take turns popping their letter die. Using a dry erase marker, this is a fantastic game to practice with writing and learn how the shape and form of letters.

Ages 6-9:

3. Grab & Match Leveled Operations Quickies: Through this game you can practice addition, equations, sums, word problems, subtraction, multiplication and division with this easy-to-play card game. The game also helps boost operations skills that gradually progress in difficulty where kids can master math in the comfort of their own home.

4. Pirate Island Reading for Details Game: What a fun way to learn with a pirate island adventure. Through this action-packed game, kids can learn to read for details while exploring the private island in search for the secret treasure with some quicksand, spooky caverns and snakes along the way.
