Strolling with Joovy

I'm not sure how it happened, but I have officially become obsessed with strollers. It happened innocently enough. I added one to my registry with my first daughter where after using it I realized that I didn't get the right one. Over the years, I developed a better idea what I am looking for and today strolling has taken on a new form depending on the day and where I am going and what child I am using it for

Living in Brooklyn also presents a new list of stroller demands where I need one that is easy to maneuver on the streets as well as one that can be taken up and down subway stairs. As you can see, choosing a stroller can't be taken lightly so I was thrilled when I had the opportunity to test out the Groove Umbrella Stroller, a new and improved stroller by Joovy.

To test it out, my older daughter and my baby both had a few trial runs in it - including a few naps along the way. My older daughter, who also seems to have a stroller obsession thanks to her mama, was more than willing to jump in our new lime green Groove. After a quick installation (essentially snapping the wheels on and placing the shade cover on), we were off and strolling to the subway and then a fun day in the city. I loaded up by placing a few small bags under the roomy storage and a cup in the 16oz cup holder (there are two!). As an amateur stroller tester, I loved that the Groove had both a sturdy frame and strong wheels. As we were walking to the subway, the stroller provided a fantastic and smooth ride that glided easily between the rugged and often uneasy city streets. My tall daughter also sat comfortably in the seat and the straps were comfortable that were also easily adjustable.

How to Create a Build Your Own Burger Bar

A burger bar is a fun way to keep your BBQ simple and to turn dinner into a casual party. Giving your family or guests lots of options for toppings and condiments keeps everyone happy. Now that more and more families are staying in, this is the type of meal that feels special. more

It isn't as lightweight as some umbrella strollers are but I found that it was more functional since there was more storage. I also loved that the stroller reclined - allowing my daughters to enjoy a variety of positions during our trial run - which many umbrella strollers also don't. This can be particularly annoying when my older daughter occasionally naps in her stroller and her head bobbles back and forth. Thanks to the Groove her head remained intact that allowed her to relax in a more comfortable position.

I also loved testing it out with my baby, who has only been in a car seat attached to a stroller up until this point. Her neck and head strength is getting better and sat upright and comfortable in the stroller. She also did really well with a nap in stroller. She fell asleep upright but with a simple tug from behind the stroller the seat reclined. The extended shade on the canopy also made for a more peaceful napping experience on-the-go.

Beyond how it functioned, I also loved that the Groove is the only stroller you will need for both a baby and a toddler. With its sturdy aluminium frame and plush seat pad, the Groove is a great stroller that can grow with your baby so that you really never need more than this one stroller. Unless, of course you have a stroller obsession.

The new Joovy is also available in Blueberry, Orangie and Black and it retails for $199.
