This week from October 10th '?? 16th, will be a good one in the world of wellness. Why? Well, because Spa Week kicks off on the 10th and with its signature $50 treatments! This incredible deal means that hundreds of day spas, medical spas, resort spas, yoga and Pilates studios and other health and fitness centers will offer 2-3 exclusive services for the said price.
To celebrate its 15th installation this fall, the wonderful folks over at Spa Week hosted a Spa Week Media Event on October 5, 2011 at the Altman Building in NYC. With tons of sponsors including CAREFREE, Vdara Hotel & Spa, CityCenter Las Vegas, YOUNGBLOOD Mineral Cosmetics, Dole, Allure Magazine, ISPA, American Laser Skincare, and Ouidad, the event went off without a hitch!
I was able to stop by a few stations to test out new products and learn about some of the services provided. At the LIFESPA station, I learned that they offer an array of services including hair care, massage and body care, skin care, and nail care. It was at this station that I was able to receive quite possibly the best. massage. ever. EVER! If you schedule a treatment with LIFESPA in Syosset, NY, you definitely want to ask for Mike. (You'??re welcome!)
Over at the YOUNGBLOOD Mineral Cosmetics station, I learned that all mineral cosmetics are not created equal. YOUNGBLOOD products are free of talc and other filters that can clog or irritate skin. I tried out their gel eyeliner in black and, if you'??re an '??eyeliner'? kind of person, it'??s basically to die for!
After mingling a bit, I spent some time in the Carefree Refresh Lounge where I was given on-the-go stretching techniques to help relieve tension, improve circulation, increase flexibility, and add energy to my day. And, as always, Momtrends is sharing some of the wellness:
Neck Stretches: Bring your right ear to your shoulder to feel the stretch on the left side of your neck. Repeat on the opposite side.
Torso/Arm Stretches: Lace your fingers together and raise your arms above your head with your palms up. Relax and repeat.
Bonus relaxation tip: Place calming aromatherapy oil, such as lavender, in your hands and rub them together. Gently raise your hands to your nose (avoiding your face) and breath deeply. Exhale and relax.
