In case you haven'??t noticed, it'??s flipping hot. And the last thing I want to do in the morning when it'??s already 88 at 9am is have a huge breakfast. No thank you. I'??ll wait for the next snowy day to have a a plate of eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and a steaming cup of coffee. OK, I'??ll take the coffee. But over ice, two Splenda and skim, if you please.

I still need a beneficial breakfast, even if my appetite would rather eat a piece of watermelon and call it a hot day. So I'??ve started hitting my local Smoothie King for the most important meal of the day. They have over 20 high-protein smoothies, from Lean1 (packing a 20-gram protein punch) to their popular Gladiator, knocking out hunger with 45 grams of protein and only 2 carbs. I'??m also getting fruits, veggies and essential amino acids (even though I haven't found watermelon on the menu yet).

You can also choose from a list of smoothies based on what'??s right for you. This isn't your mama's blended beverage. These are carefully crafted and well-thought out body boosters. Do you want to trim down? They have a list of low-fat smoothies that are under 400 calories. Some even have special ingredients that promote weight loss even further. Try their Shredded in Chocolate, a powerful formula of the Gladiator protein, L-Carnitine, Citrimax and Chromium to get your metabolism going. If you need a little energy blast, try their Instant Vigor (strawberries, pineapple and lemon and a carbohydrate mix) or the Green Tea Tango (green tea with frozen yogurt, Gladiator protein, and your choice of fruit). And let'??s not forget that sometimes you just want to indulge'?¦it's a frosty treat after all, right? That'??s what drinks like the Pina Colada Island and Peanut Power Plus Chocolate are for. Want to boost the juice? You can add enhancers and supplements like probiotics, antioxidants, pre-workout helpers, etc.

And for your little smoothie prince or princess? Try the kids'?? kups, which are kid-sized with 100% of the RDA of vitamins and minerals for children.

Word to the wise: check your appetite then check the sizes first or you'??ll be walking around with an oil drum-sized cup and a two-foot long straw. I'??m serious. They don'??t skimp on the drink. You've been warned. Now go forth and see the King.

Smoothie King is available in 600 locations around the country.
