From today through November 18th, the non-profit organization She's the First will be hosting the Second Annual Tie-Dye Cupcake Bake-Off at locations across the country. The funds raised through these bake sales will be used for girls' scholarships in eight developing nations. One in four girls in the developing world is not in school. Of the 130 million youth who are out of school in the world, 70% are girls. You can read more about the 48 girls who were sponsored with funds from last year's Cupcake Bake-Off here.
Over 100 organizations nationwide have signed-up to host simultaneous bake sales, with the goal this year of raising $50,000. To find out about joining in and hosting a tie-dye cupcake bake sale, sign-up here. While the Cupcake Bake-Offs are most often hosted by student groups, anyone can sign-up to participate - schools, businesses and even bakeries. To learn more visit www.shesthefirst.org/cupcakes.
