Earlier this month Clearblue hosted an event in NYC to talk all things mommy and baby with Rosie Pope, Co-Founder of Rosie Pope Maternity & MomPrep and Star of Bravo's Pregnant in Heels.

The informative '??play date'? gave the NYC mom media members a chance to swap conception stories and a close look at the new Clearblue product line. We loved finding out some fun facts about the latest Clearblue survey. Clearblue partnered with ModernMom, an online magazine community, to conduct an online poll of nearly 700 respondents (women, ages 22-44, who have previously taken a home pregnancy test). Moms confessed to sharing the big news on an airplane, at a rock concert, at the in-laws, and at a gas station (we shared the news at a restaurant both times).

Rosie wasn'??t surprised to hear that women go to great lengths to learn whether or not they are pregnant. Bravo'??s '??Pregnant In Heels'? star is expecting her third child next year and has confirmed her pregnancies with Clearblue products.

'??I know that anxiety starts from the moment you think you may be expecting, but a positive result could mean you'??ve received the greatest gift of all,'? said Pope. '??For any couple that may be expecting this season, Clearblue pregnancy tests provide accurate results, no matter if you'??re in a crazy place or home for the holidays.'?

The newest product, Clearblue® PLUS, offers 99% accuracy from the day of your expected period. It is also sensitive enough to use up to four days before you expect your period, which is 5 days sooner than waiting until you have missed your period. Isn't that great news for all of us who are anxious to see that plus sign--every day matters.

Some pregnancy tests claim to provide answers sooner than Clearblue, which they achieve by increasing sensitivity to hCG, the hormone that indicates pregnancy. Tests that are too sensitive to hCG can lead to false positives, which means the test tells a woman she'??s pregnant when she'??s really not, especially in women nearing age 40 and older.

National birth statistics infer that there are more conceptions in the United States during the holidays than any other time of the year and as a result, more women will purchase pregnancy tests as another reason to celebrate the season. What a trend! Tip: Mothers-in-law do NOT get these as stocking stuffers for your DIL. Bad move, let the couple pick their own tests!
