Rock the Cut with Supercuts

Last week I attended BlogHer, which also happened to be my very first blogging conference. Since I was representing Momtrends at various events, and covering four of our own I thought this was a good excuse to clean up my look with a much-needed hair cut/blow-out. And by much needed I mean one that I haven't had in six months - it was time to take a break, clean up my hair and look professional for this very busy conference.

To help me out and stick within a budget I went to my local Supercuts, a national chain of salons for a mini makeover before the busy weekend. Prior to my haircut, I called my local Supercuts and learned that they didn't accept appointments. As a walk-in only service I decided to arrive early and was surprised that only one other person was there. I signed in with my first and last name and told them what I needed. I wasn't there for five minutes when I was given a cover and walked over to the shampoo station. My stylist washed and conditioned my hair, which also included an amazing 10-minute scalp massage.

After I was relaxed, we went to the chair and I explained what I was looking for (cut and blow-out). I wanted about an inch with some layering and she quickly went to work. We talked during the process about the school system, kids and rising costs in NYC and within 15 minutes by hair was trimmed. She then applied a light cream and placed various sections of my hair up as she started to blow dry it straight. I have wavy hair, so it was a nice change of pace to have my hair looking (and feeling) sleek!

In about 20 minutes the entire process was done and I was left with cleaning looking cut. Being that it was Supercuts it was impressed not only with the price but the amazing quality that, in total, was only $42 for BOTH a haircut and a blow-out! Having had many blow-outs in NYC, I never had such a pristine cut that didn't break the bank. I seriously found my new spot with Supercuts and can't wait stay on-top of my style without worrying about the finances involved with getting a hair cut.

As I looked around the salon, I also noticed that Supercuts was decorated in cool music posters. Through their Rock the Cut campaign, Supercuts is connecting style to cool new music, and as part of the campaign, they spent some time at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, TX checking out the latest and greatest style in hair that rocks. I loved this connection to style through music where they featured posters with sleek pompadours to the chic long fringe to every color of the rainbow. On the site you can also check out over 1,000 up-and-coming artists and download some of their songs for FREE! You can also catch weekly sneak peeks of new talent, music videos and behind-the-scenes footage!

With a professional staff and an incredible range of services, moms can have any look they want as well as maintain the look that they love. Even better - it is one that won't break so getting a cut or new style can be a part of your regular beauty routine - and not one that you enjoy every six months!

Check out their website for more info and free downloads on ROCK THE CUT.

Momtrends was not paid for this post. We were given a gift card to pay for part of the cut/blow-out.
