It is almost time to ring in the New Year, and we discovered a way to bring the action of Times Square right to you via the Times Square Ball App (now available for Apple and Android devices).
The Times Square Ball App has grown in popularity since it was launched two years ago. Within a two-week period last December, the Times Square Ball App was downloaded more than 296,000 times across 200 countries. Nearly 60,000 photos were submitted via the Times Square Ball App during the six-hour celebration.
Within the Times Square Ball App, revelers can:
- Watch the six-hour commercial-free webcast '?? as your primary source of New Year'??s Eve entertainment or for second screen viewing '?? hosted by national television and radio personality Allison Hagendorf (Fuse TV, The CW'??s '??The Next'?). It will cover the action and excitement in Times Square including the Ball Raising at 6 p.m. EST, performances by star-studded musical artists and hourly countdowns as the anticipation builds towards the famous midnight Ball Drop.
- Submit New Year'??s photos for friends, family and other revelers to vote on via the app, on Facebook and Twitter. Photos with the most votes will be showcased on the giant Toshiba Vision sign atop One Times Square on December 31 each hour from 7-11 p.m. EST for the world to see.
- Send New Year'??s Eve cards with personalized greetings and photos from the app to friends, family and followers on Facebook, Twitter and via email (for Apple users).
- Customize your Toshiba Countdown Clock on your app'??s home screen with your time zone.
The Times Square Ball App has been updated and can be downloaded for free fromhttp://timessquareball.net/app/, the iTunes Store and via Google Play for phones and tablets.
