Wham! It's back to school time and my schedule is in overdrive. Between planning a conference, getting the girls acclimated to school and keeping the family on track, I barely have time to breathe.
Here's the thing--the whole system fall apart if I get sick or fall off my a-game. So I've got to keep myself energized physically and mentally. I've got a few tricks that keep me powered up during this crazy time of the year.
Rely on fun accessories. My wardrobe can be basic and only require a few minutest each night to assemble. I rely on accessories--great scarves and statement necklaces to show off my style. Updated accessories cost a lot less than rebuilding a wardrobe each season. Without fail my punchy scarves and eye-catching necklaces get compliments--and these gems keep me fueled all day.
How to Celebrate Adoptive Parents

Spiked Apple Cider Pops
September in the South is, in my opinion, still summer. The eighties and nineties always prevail and make the traditional fall flavors that I crave so much slightly out of reach. As much as I want to relax and sip on some hot cider, at the moment, I still need something iced. ...read more

Skip the empty calories. While a sweet treat might seem like a super idea while you are stuck in traffic or waiting in line at the supermarket, in general it's a bad idea. I stash a few energy bars in my desk and bag for just such emergencies. And I also skip sodas. When I go in for big calories, I want them to be rewarding in solid nutritional benefits. The new Refreshers from Starbucks are the perfect fit. Each beverage is a sparkling, delicious boost of natural energy from Green Coffee Extract you can enjoy anytime. With real fruit juice, B vitamins, ginseng, antioxidants from vitamin C and only 60 calories per can, it's a pick-me-up you can feel good about.
Walk and Talk. Finding time to return personal calls and get away from my computer is tough. I combine the two. When it's time for a much-needed break from blogging, I grab my cellphone and head to the park to return calls, as I stroll to school pick up or to run an errand I get all the scoop from a friend (just be careful when crossing streets!). I boost my energy and my personal connections. Score!
How do you recharge and refuel? I'd love to know.
This is a sponsored post, produced in collaboration with Bliss and Starbucks. I received a Starbucks Refreshers sample to review. The opinions shared in this post are my own.
