Yoga has been a huge part of my lifestyle before and after kids. When I was pregnant with my second child, I practiced yoga exclusively at least two to three times a week and I must say I was the fittest I've even been during that pregnancy. Now pregnant with my third, I crave practicing but find it extremely hard to find the time with my hectic schedule. I've found the only way to get a workout in these days is during my daughters nap time while in my home working out to a DVD. And finding the right video is key.
I have discovered "Radiant Pregnancy'? DVD. Hala Khouri, a renowned yoga teacher and somatic counselor integrates practical tools from yoga and therapy to enhance the practice. She addresses the psychological affects of pregnancy while practicing during her own pregnancy. Hala has created specific practices for each trimester, and each section includes a gentle warm up, more challenging poses to strengthen and support a woman'??s changing body, restoratives to allow for deep rest and relaxation, and a meditation specific to what might be occurring during that specific stage of pregnancy. The DVD is so soothing between the music and positions, I not only feel extremely relaxed afterwards but also feel super energetic. This video is great for on the go preggers, like me.
Radiant Pregnancy: A Comprehensive Prenatal Yoga Practice for Each Trimester is available on Amazon and retails for $23.99.
