Preview: Kid Made Modern by Todd Oldham

I am all about creative play with my daughters. Although my older daughter does play an occasional app, she is way more into painting, jewelry making, playing pretend and dress up over technology. I really want to focus on that with them so I love it when I hear about designers like Todd Oldham who have created a new line of creative craft kits and art supplies for kids of all ages.

Available exclusively for Target, the Kid Made Modern line is based off of his craft book of the same title. At a recent preview at the Target studio, I had the chance to talk with Todd and learn more about the line that includes high-quality crayons, lanterns, board books, comic book kit, the wooden blocks, the watercolors, picture frame kits, jewelry making kits, pillow making kits and the best one yet: a colorful collection of duct tape that can be turned into a bag!

I loved how the entire collection focuses modern and bright colors, interesting shapes and innovative packaging. The adults at the event were staring at the product in wonder just as much as the kids. I also loved how he focused on crafting that Target says, "will allow children to approach problem solving and skills that will serve them the rest of their lives.

This fun line is coming to Target on May, 20th!
