Whether you're looking for a gift this season for a girlfriend, mother, sister, friend or just yourself, you should give the gift of color. This season's runways were rampant with bold lipped models--deep plums to be exact. I've made the runways a reality by doing my dirty work (ok, it was kind of fun in that stained lip kind of way) to find the best lipsticks to accomplish this trend.
Dr. Hauschka's 11 ($23.95) is creamy, opaque and stays on for a long time. You should do a pale soft eye when wearing this lip. Even after it's worn off there's still a hint of it that lingers. The lipstick has a great aroma and is beautifully encased in gold.
Laura Mercier's Black Orchid ($22) allows you to control how sheer or opaque the color is depending on how many layers you apply. One and it's a hint of plum. Two and you're getting there. Three and you've got yourself a rich juicy color. This lipstick's perfect for day transitioning into night.
