Ode is a small clothing brand focusing on clothing with Indian inspiration. Small children's clothing brands make me happy--it's all about unexpected textures, colors and delight in creation. While large clothing retailers can deliver consistency and price, the little guys keep things interesting AND inspire the big guys to keep doing better.
Ode is named after a village in India. The founder's family is from that poetically named village. You'll see the rich colors of India infused in the designs. While the clothes make look a little foreign, they will soon become familiar friends and favorite dresses for your girls.

I picked up the Ami dress ($58) at a recent trunk show in DUMBO, Brooklyn. I liked the sophisticated print placed on super-soft cotton. And the pop of yellow on the inside is unexpected and fun.
My other daughter picked the Viola embroidered patchwork skirt($58). This 100% cotton skirt is great for layering with leggings and goes with so many fun colors. And you might want to head to the sale section to pick up a Shruti jacket--my girls love layering this piece over t-shirts instead of a sweater.
The collection is for girls only and runs from tots to size 8. Visit www.odekids.comdresses to shop
