The most photographed family in America set the fashion bar high yesterday at the inaugural events in Washingiton DC. We're so excited for all pomp, circumstance, and of course, style of Inauguration Day 2013!
Yesterday the nation watched as the first family settled in for another four years. If the day was a omen of fashions to come, it's going to be a good four years. Michelle has made belts her signature. And she didn't disappoint with her dazzling coat pick.
Michelle wore a coat by designer Thom Browne. I know Thom from Ralph Lauren. He made a name for himself designing VERY trim suits for men (they showed off the ankle). Now he's expanding his line and he couldn't have picked a better model. In this photo Michelle is wearing custom boots from Reed Krakoff. J.Crew should also be thrilled. Not only did Michelle pick a pair of heels from them, Malia (14) picked a J.Crew coat. I love the bright colors on both the girls. it can't be said enough that Michelle has done a great job keeping them mostly out of the spotlight and when they are in focus they look pitch perfect. Another mass retailer is smiling today, Sasha (11) wore Kate Spade.
For the evening galas (I had a friend there, can't wait to get the full report), Michelle gets an A+. Her look would definitely get passed in Congress.
She picked a stunning low-back dress from Jason W
u. And on her feet? Jimmy Choo. Well done ladies. I'm a fan of the new fringe on Michelle. I just remembered she's a capricorn too. No wonder we are fashion kindred spirits.
Momtrends was not paid for this post and we would happily report on Republican fashions too. We are bi-partisan when it comes to style.
