New Organic Line: Mom & Doc Apothecary

I love the trend of organic products that are popping up in mainstream stores. Moms no longer have to search in specialized stores for safe and chemical-free products; they are slowly becoming the norm. One new brand that I am really excited about is Mom & Doc Apothecary, an organic skincare company that started by using Crisco. Using the principals of traditional apothecary, the brand uses techniques that have been used for centuries. All of which are completely researched and safe!

Created by Orange County Pediatrician Dr. Michael Shannon and Heather Hamilton, the Founder of Zoe Organics, the inspiration behind Mom & Doc Apothecary was when Dr. Shannon, recommended using Crisco as a skin moisturizer and skin repair cream for her baby.

When Heather looked further into the use of Crisco for skin care, she discovered that it was a little known beauty secret dating back to the early twentieth century: vegetable oil. Over the years they have introduced other ingredients to the formula, like TBHQ, (tertiary butylhydroquinone) a butane derivative anti-oxidant.

Heather soon began whipping up her own organic skin care remedies for her family and friends, using only premium grade, plant ingredients.

How to Get Your Child Involved in Ski Racing

Do you ever watch the Winter Olympics with your family? We sure do at this house. Seeing the ski racers fly down the mountains was a big part of what attracted our girls to ski racing, but the biggest draw was friendship and time spent in the snow. If you are wondering how to get more

After using Crisco for years as a skin moisturizer and skin repair cream for babies, children and adults, Dr. Shannon asked Heather to create a new product for baby bottoms, dry skin, sun burn relief and lessening scars from cuts and abrasions. Heather created Dr. Shannon'??s Skin Balm, a totally organic, preservative-free product containing naturally high levels of skin-repairing vitamin E.

Featuring avocado oil, cocoa butter, plantain leaf), and vanilla precious oil, I loved how this multifaceted product worked in no time. I used it to treat my baby's dry skin as well as my own chapped lips. It slathers on easily with no greasy residue while also treating damaged and scarred skin.

Made with 100% certified organic ingredients, the balm is loaded with powerful antioxidants, vitamins A, E and D, and omega fatty acids that goes on clean and helps to moisturize, protect and regenerate healthy skin cells.

As a mom, I only want the very best products for my baby and with the Mom & Doc Apothecary's new balm is easy to find a waterless, organic and safe product that can moisturize, protect and regenerate the skin.
