Momtrends hit the town to celebrate 10 years of gorgeous maternity clothes for
Target with fashion designer Liz Lange.
Liz Lange and I
Liz Lange has a long history of designing maternity clothes. Before she worked with Target, she had a high- end maternity line but when I asked her why the switch, she told me, "Every woman should be able to look and feel beautiful while pregnant. I wanted to make stylish clothes that were accessible to all women." Her maternity line at Target has been a success since its debut and is now celebrating its 10th year. Held at The Glass Houses, a fabulous space overlooking the Hudson River and designed to look like Liz's actual home, Liz Lange was surrounded by friends, family and celebrity friends including mama-to-be, Molly Sims, and mother of two Soleil Moon Frye.

Molly Sims was resplendent in a chic maternity top designed by the one and only Liz Lange and although retailed for $19.99 she looked like a million bucks. Molly Sims is expecting her first child in only a few short weeks, and if this mama showed us anything, it's that the right clothes makes even the last trimester a chance to shine. In her words, '??What people don'??t realize, and what Liz has done really well, is that you want to show off the belly '?? because if not, you look really big. If you make it tighter '?? I know people laugh '?? you actually look smaller.'? Click here to purchase the Liz Lange maternity top Molly is wearing.
Liz Lange also shared with me her design inspiration. She told me that she wanted her maternity line for Target to be stylish, to be current and not basically not look like maternity clothes. With a full line of maxi dresses, bold prints, bright colors and color blocking, her new line is not only fashionable but affordable too. Liz and I spoke about how I wore her line throughout my pregnancy as I loved wearing the latest trends all while accommodating by growing belly. I shared that I also loved that I could wear the clothes even after I had given birth. She laughed and said "Of course! The weight doesn't just slide off. They don't tell you that, do they?"
Celebrity friend to Liz Lange, Target mommy ambassador as well as fellow designer Soleil Moon Frye and I got to talk all things natural parenting. She shared that she finds her kids are more willing to reach for the "real food" because she lets them indulge in ice cream and the like. She said, "It's all about the balance." Soleil had this to say when asked about Liz Lange's Maternity line for Target, "You want to feel beautiful and amazing, especially as a pregnant mom. I remember that stage of needing to find that perfect thing that fits just right and I love Liz Lange. Her collection is so fantastic and she always makes you feel beautiful, and you should feel your most beautiful when you're having a baby."
