You know J&R, the family-owned and operated store that has been around since 1971, but allow me to introduce J&R Jr., the newest member of the family. Momtrends recently partnered with Kidz Vuz to celebrate the opening of J&R Jr. where elite NYC bloggers and editors gathered for an entertaining family day of music, food and the opportunity to check out the hottest toys.
Located in downtown Manhattan, J&R Jr. boasts its own private 10,000-square-feet haven inside the iconic J&R building. Vibrantly decorated and easy-to-navigate, the space outfits only the highest quality toys, musical instruments, clothing, strollers, car seats, arts and crafts, electronics and more. Don'??t worry if you can'??t make it to the store, all of the items are available online.
Jason, the son of J&R, with Lazoo founders David Gomberg and Eric Gomberg and their children.
Our guests enjoyed the whole gamut J&R Jr. has to offer - kids raced with virtual cars, entertained on instruments, played in Critter land, explored the iPad, challenged Nintendo, hooted with the train, and chilled out in the play pit.
Alex arts and crafts assisted the kids as they made colorful hand-crafted tissue-paper flowers.
Guests departed with a little more than they expected thanks to the generous folks at J&R. Everyone was thrilled to receive an HP PhotoSmart printer. That rocks, Dada!
As if the printer wasn't enough, J&R filled these delightful eco-friendly bags with a collection of toys, videos and other specialty items sold at J&R Jr. One item particularly caught my eye- the metallic gel stick made by Faber- Castell. It is not a crayon or marker, but a silky stick that glides on paper to create a sheen finish.
