Infant Swings: Our Top Picks for Baby

At first, I thought infant swings looked like giant spiders. Those long legs sticking out. The large size. But then, I brought my baby home and my cradle swing became the most beautiful piece of furniture in my house. Out of all the products friends told me to buy, my infant swing was the best investment. Both my girls loved the gentle side to side swinging motion. They took their longest naps in their swing and, sometimes, even slept the entire night, snuggled into their little nest.

With all the swings on the market, which one should you buy? I think the most important feature is a swing that can be plugged into a wall outlet, so you're not constantly changing the batteries. Babies also love music. Besides that, all the bells and whistles are really not necessary, but why not get one that does it all?

The Sugar Plum Starlight Cradle 'n Swing is my favorite swing for a little girl. I love the purple accents and sweet, flower mobile. With plush head support and a soft, cushioned seat, your baby will feel cozy and safe. Sixteen songs soothe and entertain and side to side and back and forth movement gives you options for keeping baby happy. The Sugar Plum swing even has a light show that projects onto the canopy! Use batteries or plug swing into the wall.

The gender neutral Fisher Price Zen Collection Cradle Swing is also an incredible swing. With side to side and back and forth movement, songs, nature sounds, cute mobile and even a built in blanket. Another great feature is the seat is removable so you can easily take it from room to room, even leaving the swing in one room and just taking the seat. There are two recline positions that make it handy for sleeping and awake time. The dark wood and earthy colors are perfect for blending in with the rest of your decor. The Zen Collection Swing uses batteries and can, also, plug in to the wall.
