IKEA'S Life Improvement Contest

As moms we try to live our best life everyday for ourselves and our kids. Now IKEA, the Swedish home furnishing company, is holding a Life Improvement Sabbatical Contest where one lucky person can win $100,000 to help improve their community and share their experiences with the world. In addition to the incredible grand prize, the lucky winner will be able to take 51 free Life Improvement Store Seminars at various IKEA locations. These seminars will be hosted by experts from 13 publications including Family Circle and their partner Food University, Cooking Light, ReadyMade and This Old House. In addition, seminars will be offered in select stores with life coaches provided by O, The Oprah Magazine.

This cool contest reflects IKEA's new brand platform, The Life Improvement Store, an idea designed to help consumers focus on creating a better everyday for themselves life. Through their Life Improvement website you can get a glimpse of this incentive with fun manuals offering tips on how to try new things, build confidence, get a good night's sleep and tips on how to organize your closest!

To enter, contestants submit a life improvement proposal online at http://www.thelifeimprovementproject.com. Five finalists will be chosen from submissions by a panel of judges and the winner will be determined by public vote, and announced on January 31, 2011.

*NOTE: The grand prize winner is not required to take a leave of absence from work. If the grand prize winner chooses to take leave from employment to work on their project, they can utilize a portion of the prize toward living expenses.

The contest is open from September 14 - November 8, 2010.
