Fall isn't even here yet, but the fashion calendar moves on. This week we were thinking spring at NYC's Fashion Week. Avon invited me to co behind the scenes at the Richard Chai fashion show. There were tons of bold bright colors on the lips and on the hips (errr, bodies). I kept it fall-like with my ensemble. But more on what I wore later.
I was there to check out hair. Tippy Shorter is Avon's celeb hair guru. She was creating fab looks for the runway--and there's good news. This hair style is totally mom-friendly. The pulled back pony has a rumpled "choatic" look on top. What mom can't create that at home! On the bottom the pony was sleek--any were' telling you with Avon's hair goodies, this is attainable too.
Avon's team was armed with new 3D Rescue. This hair treatment targets damaged tresses and restores health, strength and shine. Here's what it tackles:
1. Thermal damage from heat styling
2. Chemical damage from bleaching
3. Mechanical damage from brushing
Results were just released. The targeted treatment reverses 3 years of hair damage in 3 days (according to a 1 week Consumer Study 10-1643 with 97 people). Insider tip for great hair: Skip the regular ponytail holder and try one of these stay-put bungees.
The makeup look was provided by James Kaliardos of Mac. He brushed on bright cyan, orange and fuchsia to make the model's pop. To read more about the makeup visit www.makeupforlife.net

As for me, I skipped the heels. I had an action-packed day. After this show I headed to Robert Verdi's fashion event, then onto Fashion's Night out events. So I skipped the heels and opted for kicky boots. And I chose well, those boots were photographed more than Pippa Middleton at a rugby game.
Now on to what we wore for our fabulous day of NY Fashion Week.
Dress & Belt: Madewell--Tuxedo ShirtDress ($172)
Boots: Ralph Lauren Collection
Necklace: Random from a small boutique in Paris
Bag: Tory Burch
