Essie Summer Collection

It'??s scary how much I love orange (a theme I'??ve punctuated with kisses blown from my orange lips). So how appropriate is it that Essie'??s new 2012 Summer collection has an obsession-worthy bright orange shade aptly named Fear or Desire? It'??s like they know me.

This collection is simultaneously so daring and so darling. Bright bright bright, that'??s all I can say. It's like someone took every flavor of tropical sherbet and melted them into the bottles. Why not? Since we'??ve seen nothing but bright hues on the runways for this season of sun, shouldn't we also light up the day (and night) with fashionably bright nail tips to go with those popsicle-dripping lips?

Although I haven'??t worn one in years, my next in line for fave is Bikini So Teeny (shown above), a provocative lustrous cornflower blue that is a powdery escape from those dark indigos we saw this past the winter (although I'll be craving those again come fall). The remaining polishes in the line are just as coquettish and pearlescent'??Cascade Cool (a frosty carnation pink), All Tied Up (a tame but none-the-less naughty molten brown), Off the Shoulder (a scorching hot pink), and Mojito Madness (the always popular summertime lime). *sigh* I love a good mojito in the summer. *sigh again*

Against a tan, these colors will really pop in the most playful of ways, so don'??t be afraid to paint on the party this summer. Essie has been keeping our nails pretty for more than 20 years, and this summer I really think they've nailed it.

Essie'??s new 2012 Summer collection of polishes are available at salons for $8 per bottle.
