63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - Arrivals

I admit I didn't see the Modern Family I mean Emmy Awards this year. But I did spend a lot of time pouring over the looks and want to share the hits and misses of the evening. It's too easy to pick the lovely starlets in red--yes they all dazzled. I'm cheering for Christine Baranski in her fab navy and for Gwyneth for taking chances with this vaguely Indian dress. Kudos to her for keeping things interesting.

Applause also to the adorable Julie Bowen. No this dress isn't a slam dunk, but it's sexy and shows off her great figure. The Oscar De la Renta gown isn't my fave and won't start a new trend, but the entire look is sleek and sexy. The lesson here? A terrific smile and saves the day.

What else worked? All the side swept hair. Loved this elegant hair style. Bravo ladies,

Now, the fun part. What went horribly wrong. Jane Krakowski (photo from www.celebuzz.com) should have a serious chat with whomever painted her orange.

Oh my, we love Brooke Burke (photo via http://awards.tv.yahoo.com/) but this look is a disaster from head to toe. This from a woman who loves purple. The hair, the necklace...all wrong.

We know these classy ladies have better taste than this, we'll look forward to seeing them improve for the next red carpet.
