Picking a car seat for your baby may be one of the more important decisions you make on your registry. Arm yourself with information. Diapers.com just released their Top 10 Car Seat Survey Results, and we're sharing them in the hope of making your registry a less of a challenge. The survey results are based on 2010 sales on Diapers.com.
The top pick for infants was the Graco Snugride 35 ($154.99). This well-priced seat got good reviews for high safety standards and ease of use. We've owned Graco seats for years, and I attest that the company makes it as easy as possible to install the seats correctly (applause for the easy-to-read level indicator). The safety features include EPS, energy absorbing foam and 5-point, front-adjust harness
Age/Height/Weight Limits: Infants/up to 32 in./from 5 to 35 lbs.
Compatibility: Compatible with most Graco strollers.
Our favorite infant seat, the Maxi-Cosi Mico came in at #5 on the list. The offers all the standard safety requirements (side impact protection, 5-point harness with up-front harness adjustment, etc.), plus is tops in the style department. The price ($169.99) isn't much more than the Graco, but check out th cool color options like this Choco-Mint. It'??s light on your arms and back at just under 8.5 pounds and has an ergonomically designed handle.
Height/Weight Limits: From 19 to 29 in./from 5 to 22 lbs.
Compatibility: Travel system compatible with Quinny Buzz, Quinny Senzz, Quinny Zapp, Maxi-Cosi Mila, Maxi-Cosi Loola, Maxi-Cosi Perle and Maxi-Cosi Foray strollers. All considerably pricier strollers than those that work with the Graco.
