Momtrends recently caught up with theDavid Yurman team in their headquarters in Tribeca, New York City for their Spring/Summer preview. After previewing the collection, can I just say'?¦ wowsa! There'??s definitely a trend alert in the form of fabulous eyewear that will be available beginning this spring, so get ready folks.
In case you'??re unaware of the genius that is David Yurman, let me break it down for you. Based out of New York, David is a phenomenon in the world of fine jewelry and timepieces (aka '??watches'?) because his pieces just capture the essence of that relaxed American luxury look. (Can you tell that I'??m a huge fan?) I don'??t typically get excited about sunglasses, but when it comes to Mr. Yurman'??s shades, I'??m like a kid in a candy store. And I can'??t be stopped until I get my fix. I mean, they are sophisticated, elegant, and chic'?¦ what'??s not to love?!
Now, about the preview. The eyewear collection will draw inspiration from some of the David Yurman jewelry groups, like the Signature Cable, the Chiclet, the Chevron, the Tag, the Sculpeted Flute, and the Starlight Ice. The frames will be available in and array of colors that mimic the gemstones the Yurman jewelry is known for. There are also many face-flattering and fashion-forward silhouettes to choose from like cat-eye, square, or circle.
The Signature Cable style is so popular and is the first eyewear to display the David Yurman logo (a la the necklace pictured below). It'??s got curves of the acetate swing template that are complemented by the cable design and crowned with the "DY" logo. (See what I mean? Totally sophisticated elegance.)
Sapphire, moonstone, rose quartz, and white agate adds the '??chic'? to the Chiclet style (quite akin to the bracelet pictured). In this group, you'll be able to choose from two different sunglasses and three different optical styles, but I'??m sure it'??ll be a difficult choice between the gold vermeil and the sterling silver so chose with care.
Like a true work of art, the Starlight Ice will incorporate the use of texture and light, and will offer two new optical styles that are decorated with a sterling silver cast accent that'??s fully encrusted with pavé white and black sapphires.
At the preview event, attendees were allowed to choose a pair to take home. I could hardly contain my excitement and had a hard time narrowing down my picks because, with all these choices, it was like being a kid in a candy store. A sophisticated and fashionable candy store, but a candy store nonetheless. I chose this beauty:
I love the purple color, the cat-eye shape, and the Signature Cable that captures the essence of David Yurman. What do you think? Total sweetness, right?
