I don'??t wear clogs. Let'??s just get that right out in the open. I also don'??t wear Crocs. Another exchange of info I feel we need to have to clear the air over my choices of summer shoes. My sandals are strappy. My platform wedges are high. This is who I am.

Well, the only constant thing is change. When I was introduced to the clog king Dansko'??s new 2012 Spring collection, I was skeptical from the get-go.

Turns out they have two adorable shoes that you will catch me proudly wearing with sundresses, shorts, to the beach, to lunch, to iced coffee with the girls, to the mall with my little girl. They're clogs-meet-heels-meet-Crocs-meet-Mary Janes-meet-comfort-meet-so-cute-I-can'??t-stand-it.

First off is my fave, The Pippa (see above). No, not party queen Pippa Middleton. These are single mold shoes with the most delicate twirly whirly cutout designs, reminiscent of a doily snowflake from winters past. Perfect for summer outfits, they let your tootsies breathe and give that all-important pop of color that's all over spring and summer fashion (who said clogs need to be raffia colored). The orange, yellow and magenta versions meet the bright challenge of the stylish season, while the teal, blue and black are a more natural look. This is my new go-to shoe. Dansko probably already knew this was going to happen when they took the all-over comfort of molded thermoplastic and evolved it with contoured support and such stylish design. Can't wait to wear these with white capris.

Next up is the Thea, a part of the new Mirabel collection sandal that has a refreshing low heel with Mary Jane-esque full toe coverage and a comfy thick strap. They'??re more for a classic look than a sexy night out on town, but these lightweight shoes have clean lines, stud detailing and rich veg leathers for a fresh and extremely flattering shape. They'??re available in black, red, tan, and brown, but the green is perfect for springtime. The 2.5 inch heel isn't exactly the skyscraper I'm used to, but I'm guessing my back could use the break. And the cut-out is right on-trend with the architecturals seen on the runways (secret: it'??s actually there to absorb shock, while delivering flexibility...imagine that).

And imagine...me in clogs. Didn't see that coming.

The Thea ($130) and Pippa ($80) are available at dansko.com.
