Momtrends on Location: Covering the Premiere Party of Brave

The heroic Merdia won my heart (read more about my review of the movie here) while watching the gorgeously animated film, Brave this week. To celebrate the world premiere I was amongst a group of bloggers that was invited to the screening at the Dolby Theater and then a celebratory bash at the Governor'??s Ball.

We started by walking the green carpet along Hollywood that led up to the stairs of the Dolby Theater. It was interesting to see the hundreds of news outlets waiting to interview the celebrities as well as some people on a double decker bus rocking Merida wigs.

Having watching the Oscar'??s since I was a kid, I loved the experience of watching the movie in the same room that the award ceremony was held. For this occasion, I wore a long flowy red dress and a pair of black kitten heels as well as some Stella and Dot jewelry and a new watch/bracelet from Antropologie. The dress was particularly fun to wear since I have had it for over a year and it was just sitting in my closet. Also, it was under $25.00 - making it a great dress to wear for various occasions.

Family Ski Trip to Gunstock Mountain in New Hampshire

My journeys to ski New Hampshire started almost a decade ago. When I had a young ski racer, she qualified for a regional championship race at a mountain called Gunstock. It sounded exotic and steep! We were used to our tiny little hill in Connecticut and then skiing the powder more

Dressed up and ready to soak in the sights, I loved that the event included a collection of traditional Scottish bagpipes, archery stations, face painting, music from Scotland and of course the food! I was really impressed with the delicious post-movie dinner options that included macaroni and cheese, salmon cakes, salad, vegetables, beef pie and even a scotch and haggis tasting station for those who had brave culinary appetites.

Celebs were also in attendance and where I spotted celebrity moms like Angela BassettChristina Milan and the gorgeous Alessandra Ambrosio with her daughter.

After a night of enjoying the movie and taking in the premiere after-party, I had an amazing experience playing dress-up and taking in the environment of this world premiere that gave a proper homage to this exciting new animated movie.
