With the holidays approaching at a rapid speed we have been thinking about toys and gifts for our kids. As a mom of 2 girls, dolls and princesses are hot for us but I am have a few nephews that I have been looking to find the perfect toy for.
I recently had the opportunity to chat with Neal Hoffman, Director of Marketing at Silverlit Toys, a 30-year-old company and leader in the R/C vehicle category. I was also able to see Neal demo some toys and even play with some of the latest products from Silverlit. Here are some of my favorites picks for the holidays.
3D Twister: This high-speed R/C vehicle uses high tech remote control to move at hyper-fast speeds as well as crash in the controller. At the demo, I was in awe of its two-sided driving and speed as well as how it could crash into the wall without any damage. The car can drive with 10 other cars without overlapping and perform gravity-defying stunts with the 3-in-1 Jump Ramps (sold separately) where it can back flip jump, long jump and high jump.
Head Shotz: These customizable and interactive R/C battle-ball bot toys were also incredible to watch as two head shotz battled each other. As they fight each other (or move around themselves) they transform their arms. At the demo, I watched a "face-off" between two head shotz as they knocked each other out and spun around. They can also perform stunts, spin and be trained to learn new moves and defenses.
Blue Sky Heli: An indoor helicopter, the Blue Sky Heli is controlled via Bluetooth (including iPod, iPhone and iPad) that follows the movements of the user. I loved testing out this product as my movements via an iPad controlled how the helicopter shot up as well as soared around. The heli also delivers sound effects, force feedback and authentic simulator.
