We recently discovered the cutest socks from pipopipo, a brand new apparel line created by former Volcom Japan CEO Matt Sanders and his wife Kanako, parents of twin toddlers based in Los Angeles who were inspired by the playful Japanese '??kawaii'? aesthetic ('??cute'? in Japanese) while living overseas. The collection includes whimsical characters with names like Aster, Busby, Lin, Mimi, Ruby and Hana that come in a stylish bamboo box that can be used for storage as well as serves as a unique packaging piece for gifts.

I tested out the socks with my daughter, and I loved how easily they go on as well as how they stayed on! We are constantly losing socks and I didn't have that issue with the pipopipo socks that can work on the specific needs of little bodies - be it pudgy feet, sensitive skin, or wobbly footing. As an eco-friendly sock, they are made from sustainable bamboo, a high performance fabric that keeps those tiny feet stink-free, warm and dry. For busy crawlers and cruisers, the socks also are non-slip. In addition to being functional, they are also really adorable with the cute faces of the pipopipo friends and their doe-eyed faces and bright colored socks. This includes pipopipo Friends For Boys and pipopipo Friends For Girls as well as an apparel line that will launch early next year.

I also love how the characters come alive through their interactive and bright website where you can discover comics and videos (all of which are age-appropriate for children under age five). Original comics featuring the pipopipo friends' adventures are also posted daily at www.facebook.com/pipopipofriends and www.twitter.com/pipopipofriends.

pipopipo sock sets retail for $35 and are currently available online at www.pipopipoclothing.com. Some of their trendy retailers include Fred Segal in LA and Phoebe Cates'?? Blue Tree in NYC.
