When you become a parent everything changes. Not only does your perspective on life change, we have even found that our career changes thanks to blogging as well as a new understanding certain causes and issues pertaining to children. A similar life-changing moment also happened to Kathryn Ames, founder of Brūz Wear after she became a mom. Her son, Nicholas, was diagnosed with severe Hemophilia (a bleeding disorder caused by a lack of clotting protein) where he would have black and blue knees when he tried to crawl. In an effort to keep him moving and help with his confidence, Ames created pants with sewn-in kneepads and called them Brūz Wear, which she also realized could help other parents who also wanted stylish and functional apparel for their active kids - with and without Hemophilia.

Made locally in Denver, Brūz Wear started features Crawling Pants, Stumbling Pants, Cruising Pants, Board Shorts for warmer weather fun and the soon-to-be-released Snow Pants for the winter. Available in sizes 9 months to 8 for boys and girls, the line features contemporary colors like orange, navy and red and funky prints like snake skin and circles that are paired with navy, wheat and chocolate pants. Additionally, all of the pants feature machine-washable foam pants, reflective stripes, draw strings to hold them up and a performance crawling strap (for crawlers). Looking through the collection, I love the high quality of the pants that were mixed with cool and modern patterns that kids of all ages will love.
Not only about fashion, the company is also advocates and educators to the bleeding disorder community. They also donate various products to the Hemophilia communities around the country.
