This month, the Clarins Fragrance Group is getting together with European luxury house Swarovski to launch "Aura,'? its first fragrance for the U.S. The scent is incandescent, fruity, floral. (Sounds like a girl I knew in college.) Aura comes in the most gorgeous slender silver cases.
I'??m happy about the fragrance, but as a party girl, I'??m also interested in the celebration surrounding the launch. And this one has its very own spectacular aura.
To celebrate Aura'??s debut, Swarovski has created a sparkling gloss for lips nestled in a precious case that can be worn as a necklace. Even the packaging is luxurious'?¦with an elegant box that inside holds a white spiral case. Just twist and to reveal tiny box resembling a miniature hat box. It'??s a three-tiered surprise. And inside'?¦your gems await.
The pendant is a silver circle with weight and wonder, covered in Swarovski crystals. Just slide the top aside and you have a gloss that imparts a stunning shine thanks to the powdered, micronized Swarovski crystal iridescent pearls in its formula. There'??s a pink hue and a clear gloss, but both leave your lips shimmery.
I'??ve already worn the makeup jewel with a simple tee and cardi combo. It has glammed up a white buttoned down man'??s shirt, and it most definitely will be paired with a sweet summer dress. A versatile piece of jewelry that also means fewer things in your tiny clutch bag? Now that's something to celebrate.
The Aura by Swarovski gloss is exclusively available at Swarovski stores for $75.
Our first escape for the year will be a May trip to Maine. We'??re heading off to a cabin with friends and their kids for a few days of relaxing. Don'??t worry'?¦there'??s a kitchen and a Jacuzzi in the cabin...I'm not camping for goodness sake! I guess you could call it an escape. There will be canoeing, hiking, and outlet shopping. That'??s not '??relaxing'? in a sleepytime way. But at least it'??s a good kind of escape (read: I don't have to do laundry, grocery shop, work).
One thing that I know isn'??t relaxing in any sense of the imagination is the packing part of a vacation. Bu if you know me, which I think by now you do, I'??m an organized machine. Everything in its place. Every travel beauty item tiny and multi-tasking.
Philip B heard me because they just launched their new '??Escape'? Travel Kit, a vibrant set of botanical goodies tucked in a chic little travel case. I grab the case and I'??m good to go for the weekend. This is a limited-edition set, designed to perfect hair, soften skin and refresh from head to toe.
The "Escape" Travel Kit contains minis of the Lavender Hair & Body Shampoo, Light-Weight Deep Conditioning Crème Rinse (a paraben-free formula), pH Restorative Detangling Toning Mist, and the Lovin' Hand & Body Crème. I'??m most excited about the shampoo'?¦it'??s a calming, gentle, sodium lauryl sulfate-free daily that actually lathers to clarify your hair, skin and scalp. The toning mist is also great for on the road (where you never know what water ph will come from the faucet). The spray adjusts the pH of tap water to tightly seal the cuticle of your hair and ward off frizz and static.
With this kit I could actually just escape into my own bathroom but shutting the door. But wait. There would still be laundry on the other side, wouldn't there.
Philip B'??s Escape Kit is available on philipb.com for $37.
