Marcia Kilgore is a force of nature. This start-up whiz has made her mark on all sorts of businesses, yet she's always stayed true to her core goal--making women and girls feel better about themselves.  Soap & Gloryhas a new lip gloss out and $1 from each sale will got to battle bullying.

We got chance to chat with Marcia at the Sephora in Times Square. She was busy giving customers some TLC with her Soap & Glory line while I fired some questions at her. Marcia's lip glosses (Sexy Mother Pucker) are the #1 sellers in the UK and gaining steam here in the US. I wanted to know the difference between the British consumer and the American one. Here's the story, on both sides of the pond we love color, but Marcia reports that American women are "very specifically groomed." It's true, whenever I see French women there's a certain glamorous messiness about them--tousled hair, just a dramatic lip without any other makeup. Whereas we yank like to look a bit more purposeful about our appearance.

One thing we can agree upon no matter our location is that bullying stinks. Marcia shared that she was "kind of intense" as a kids and was bullied in 5th grade. Of course she got over it and flourished, but she hasn't forgotten the feeling. "Soap & Glory is dedicated to celebrating individuality," says Marcia. That's one of the reasons she launched the PROUDMOUTH'?¢ campaign to support the leading anti-bullying program in the U.S. '?? STOMP Out Bullying'?¢.
