Last month I had the unique opportunity to go to a fun press event in Santa Barbara to check out the 2013 Accord Sedan and Accord Coupe from Honda. As a family that is looking for a new car, I was intrigued by the new features of the Accord and how it could work for a family.

The launch of these new models celebrates 30 years of Accord production in the U.S and features an all-new Accord with responsive handling, improved driving dynamics, spacious features and a sportier appearance.

This includes cool interior features, advanced technology like voice recognition, new electronic systems with Pandora, a SMS text messaging function and the incredible new Lane Watch feature that allows for an expanded view of the drivers mirror.

During test drives around gorgeous Santa Barbara, I was struck my how smooth and quiet the Accord was as we went through its various high ways and then rolling hills. In the car, I loved how comfortable the seats were and how the new Accord features enhanced passenger-side visibility - meaning that your children can look outside with no awkward views. Passengers also have a passenger-side mirror as well as the ability to enjoy the various features from the 8-inch VGA Screen such as a clock, audio touch, navigation, music and Honda Link featuring Yelp, Twitter and Facebook, Podcasts and much more. Additionally, the new technology also includes a High Performance LED Headlights (which is actually a first ever for Honda), a remote engine starter, and a commitment to energy efficiency in their Hybrid.

The car was also beautifully designed featuring a sporty grille, cargo hooks for storage, cool side molding, a deck lid, an illuminated door sill and fun colors from red to navy. Without being flashy or overdone, the new Accord was based on the classic model and offered a smart, sophisticated and timeless design along with the new features that makes it a beautifully sculptured car for the modern driver.

So, how does this stack up for families? As a family of four, I was looking over the features and loved what they had to offer and the space would work for us and our two small children and their car seats. The back does have sufficient storage for groceries, strollers or a portable crib for travel.

After two days in Santa Barbara, I loved the incredible views and weather as we freely drove and tested out the Accord's numerous features! For families, this car exceeds in safety and offers space and technological advances to get through long and short trips. For the modern driver and family on-the-go, the new Accord is in line with their incredible production values and services that offer saftey, technology, sleek design and comfort that makes this car a great choice fo 2013.
