Treat yourself to relaxing spa treatments in the mountains.
Best Spas Vail Colorado

Whether you are in Vail for a snow sports adventure or visiting in the summer for hiking or fly fishing, working in a spa day is a great way to relax and pamper yourself. I think every mom deserves a spa day, and when I cover luxury famiy resorts, I always make a point to do my spa research. I've rounded up my experiences at the best spas in Vail, Colorado to help you plan your next bit of zen up in the mountains.

Sonnenalp Hotel Spa

We've been staying at the Sonnenalp Vail for the past four Thanksgivings. For this Mom Boss, the hotel provides the ultimate spot for R & R. I've talked a lot about the rooms and the setting, (head here for more), but I haven't shared too much about the spa treatments.

Spa guests get to use the steam rooms, saunas, whirlpools, as well as the signature indoor/outdoor pool and solarium. Plan to stay as long as you can to use the gorgeous facilities tucked into a serene wooded setting.

My favorite treatments include the Sonnenalp Signature Massage. Pick from 50 or 80 minutes of bliss. This is just the thing to work out travel stress or relax sore muscles after a big day on the mountain. The therapists are attune to your needs and very professional.

While I love the massage, I never leave the Sonnenalp without a Signature Facial. In just 50 minutes the therapist can undo months worth of dryness and dullness. With each visit, my aesthitician analyzes my skin and then devises an action plan accordingly. My skin looks refreshed and renewed and I never feel pushed into buying a ton of products.

Manor Vail Spa

If you're looking for a manicure or pedicure and don't want to pay $100, pop over to the Golden Peak area to the Manor Vail Spa. It's been recently renovated by Kordi a new mom and the entrepreneur behind this well-thought out spot.

The spa has natural light and nice finishes in a small-ish setting. Since there's now luxurious relaxation lounge or water features, it's all about the treatments. Kordi has worked with many professional athletes on body treatments and comes highly recommended.

I had a moisturizing hand treatment and manicure. I was very impressed with my service and thought the prices to be a great value in this expensive resort town.

Hotel Talisa Vail

Hotel Talisa Spa

The Spa at Hotel Talisa just opened in 2018. The new spa takes advantage of the natural surroundings with a relaxation room with amazing views. Be sure to give yourself time before and after your treatment to flip through a magazine in front of the roaring fire as you sip a glass of white wine or tea.

Outside you can peer over Gore Creek and Vail Mountain and feel very connected to nature. I had the Himalayan Salt Stone Massage. This sublime treatment uses pink stones from the ancient seas beneath the Himalayan mountains. The stones are warmed up to help release tension as the therapist used them to pull out the stress from your body.

Spa Anjali, Beaver Creek

If you are willing to drive a bit, Beaver Creek has another great option. Just outside of Vail, you can visit the Westin's wellness facilities. You don't need to be a guest to get a treatment or use the health club, just book a treatment or class and you can enjoy these world-class facilities.

The Spa Anjali is a spacious and well-appointed facility. I recommend the poultice massage.
