Russ and Daughters Deli

The store front hasn't changed in the decades of family ownership. Expect to find treats you won't encounter in a standard candy store. We love the licorice, candied pecans and the halvah (a crushed sesame seed confection--don't worry I didn't know it either before moving to NYC).

The store was founded by 1914 and is still owned by relatives of Joel Russ. Mr. Russ immigrated from Poland and started selling fish out of a wagon in downtown NYC.
