Spending a few days out of the country limited my ability to test the networking features on the Palm Pre Plus. The SMS and phone worked but I couldn'??t get access to the Internet or email (apparently only blackberries are set up to provide email service out of the country). But I did get to put the camera through the paces.
In my rush to pack up for Vancouver (I was covering the games as part of P&G;'??s ThankYouMom.com program) after a snow day, I forgot my digital camera. I was in a bit of a panic until I got on the plane and figured out the charging cord for the Palm Pre will also serve as a USB connection.
That means I could download all the pictures from my phone onto my mac, edit them and upload them to Facebook and my blog without having phone connectivity. Whew, this was a huge lifesaver for me.
I did have a portable digital recorder that also take photos, but here'??s the thing'??the Palm Pre Plus comes with a flash, so all the dark venues at the Olympics were able to come to life.
Here'??s a look at some of my favorite snapshots from the Palm Pre Plus.
Oh and I also freely admit to using the Roll-a-Doodle etch a sketch game when I was stuck in security! That'??s the Momtrends version of the Olympic rings!
Win it! At the end of this experiment, I will be giving away a brand new Palm Pre Plus! In the weeks leading up to that contest, Momtrends will be giving away three $25 Verizon gift certificates. This week, you'll need to leave a comment telling me why you want to try the Palm Pre Plus. One winner will be picked at random next Monday 2/22 and sent a $25 gift card.
Be sure to add your contact email. Contest open to US & Canada residents ages 18 and over. Contest ends 2/22/10. Winners will be selected by random.org. Winners will be announced on a blog post. If winner fails to respond in three days a new winner will be chosen.
I wrote this review while working on a Verizon Palm Pre Plus campaign by TheMotherhood.com on behalf of Verizon Wireless and have been given a Palm Pre Plus (and prizes for giveaways) to facilitate my review.
