Monday Mingle: Spring Stitchfix Unboxing

stitchfix spring box

Another delivery of goodies arrived from Stitchfix–my go to subscription fashion box. This time they got the denim right! My favorite piece is from the denim collection made just for Stitchfix called Just Black ($88). Most of the outfit I put together here is out of the box, and I’m also sharing an unboxing video to show you what didn’t make the cut.

Here’a s look at the entire Stitchfix box. I think these videos are fun to make.

You can see how I go through the process of selection. I only get my boxes 4x a year, so it doesn’t feel overwhelming. Once a month would be too much for me.

abundance bracelets

While all the fashions are out of a box, the bracelets aren’t. I’m sharing my bangles too. These are from www.josephnogucci.com and they design amazing colorful pieces. I love stacking and layering them. I am loving bracelets right now. Taking a break from necklaces has been nice. I wear a few delicate ones, but mostly, I’m stacking things on my arm. Playing with accessories feels fun again. My favorite from the trio of beads is the The Abundance Gold Aura Bracelet is made with Grey Line Agate stone ($38–on sale for $14.99). Here’s the message behind the green bracelet: it represents abundance, and prosperity, and is indicative of someone who works hard and will prosper. Well, who wouldn’t want that! The two other beaded bracelets are also from Joseph Noguchi–the silver bangle I picked up on a press trip to Caneel Bay in St. John a few years ago.

The sweater is from Mystree ($78) and I like the zipper detail and the trendy blush color (it looks like Pantone’s color of the year). I styled it with my Hush Puppies two-toned boots and the Street Level tote Stitchfix provided. It’s a cozy way to transition from winter to spring. The days are getting longer and warmer and I’m starting to see some shoots of green popping up on the walk to school with the girls. I think (fingers crossed) the coldest, longest days are behind us.

Monday Mingle: StitchFix Unboxing

winter stitchfix

I love how stitchfix.com gives you freedom to be REALLY picky about what you keep from the subscription. This is my latest box and I’m quite pleased with the offerings. On Facebook, I heard some horrible stories about holiday gifting gone bad. And I heard some stories of things going really well. Friends that got subscription boxes were thrilled–no returns necessary. Keep what you want, return the rest and no malls involved.

Plus, buying clothes for other people is hard. What we wear is so personal. Mr. Momtrends has only gifted me clothes when we travel. We spy a cute boutique, we shop together and then everyone is happy. Did you get a bunch of clothes you don’t want this year? Gosh I hope not.

I hope I don’t sound ungrateful saying I’d much rather get a handwritten card and a hug than a piece of clothing that’s going to make me feel bad. That’s why I adore having these boxes put together by my personal StitchFix stylist! I never seem to hurt her feelings when I tell her I don’t like something. Leslie packed this one.

winter sweater

This month I was swooning over the box. The purple Market & Spruce sweater went immediately in my suitcase for a trip. I adore turtlenecks and this bold color is awesome for winter. That fun yellow “YO” or “OY” sign is from our local park. We’ve had a really mild December here in NYC so we’ve been able to get a lot of great shots outdoors. The Octavia scarf goes perfectly with the sweater.

stitchfix top

Next is this cool longsleeve Morgan Mix top from Loveappella. I needed more layering pieces and this one is fantastic.  You can see a bit of the Aiden Ankle jeans here. They were WAY too short on me and I didn’t love the wash, so those went back too. Here’s another look at the jeans. Meh?

The Blank NYC leather jacket from stitchfix.com was a tough call. The style is amazing. But I already have two leather jackets. So back it went–and no one had hurt feelings.

All in a pretty darn good box! I kept three things which I believe is my record. I’m looking forward to catching up with you all this week. Work is blessedly slow and I’m having fun reading and following everyone on instagram. Are you ready for 2016? I resolve to only wear what I love and not feel guilt about making returns! And today is my birthday so I’m happy to get to host the linky.

Monday Mingle: Stitchfix Fall Unboxing

Fall stitchfix finds

It’s gorgeous weather here in NYC and I’m loving the fashion options. I can still wear sandals and cute tops, and I can pull out jeans again and not roast. It’s awesome.

Seeing red! That’s the theme. The shoes are from Ralph Lauren and the bag is from Talbots.

This outfit was inspired by my latest StitchFix box. I’ve talked a bunch about them before. Stitchfix is the combo of what I love about personal stylists and subscription boxes.  You get clothing and accessories hand-selected by a personal stylist, delivered to your door.

I’m keeping these jeans! Love them and only $78.

Monday Mingle: Unboxing Summer Stitchfix

starbucks green tea drink for summer

Tapping into my summer style and I didn’t even have to go out to shop. Everything came in my Stitchfix box. You know I love my subscription boxes, from fitness, to food to fashion deliveries rock for busy moms.

Without further ado, here’s the box and the big reveal…

The top is from Daniel Rainn and I adore the color. When I was our at blogging events this week, it was THE hot color. The jeans fit like leggings. DL1961 are modern and SUPER slim. I do like the blouse-y top paired with the slim pants. Playing with proportions.

Now lets look at the accessories. Stitchfix put this lively beaded necklace in the box. 31 Bits is a socially conscious jewelry company that gives displaced women in Northern Uganda an opportunity to combat poverty through fashion. Fashion with heart.

I started out with wedge heels and then since I was running around to a ton of blogging events, switched to my cute Tieks flats. These shoes are made for walking.

Stitchfix works well with what I already own, like this J.Jill tote. Texture and pattern, it’s all there.

And a note about my neighborhood, I’m standing in front of a cool wall of graffiti near my house. There are so many sites that are just begging for photo shoots–more to come.  A moment about my drink of choice–Starbucks unsweetened green tea, I drink liters and liters of it when I’m on the go.

Monday Mingle: Stitch Fix Unboxing

Stitch Fix

I love, love, love subscription boxes. They are fabulous for busy moms. I’m smitten with my latest find–Stitch Fix. It’s like having a personal stylist at my beck and call to keep my closet looking fresh and trendy.

For my first Stitch Fix box I kept three of the items and took them to San Francisco. Here’s what I loved:

stitchfix bag Stitchfix top

stitch fix in SF

Street Level: Demi Fold Over Vegan Leather Crossbody Bag–the green color really popped with my spring wardrobe. I don’t have many small bags–I tend to get stuck on totes. This one allowed me to lighten up.

Collective Concepts: Georgina Keyhole Blouse–Print tops are my jam. Since I wear solid color jeans so much, the pizzazz of my wardrobe comes from my tops an shoes.  This top fit exquisitely. Score!

Kut from the Kloth: Bela Floral Dress–This feminine dress is perfect for date nights or daytime fun. I’ll wear it with my denim jacket and all my wedges.

That’s pretty good odds–I kept three of the five pieces they sent me. That means they got my style really well. Stitch Fix won me over. My first delivery was awesome!

Here’s how it works: You sign up and complete a detailed questionnaire about your style. After you do your bit of “online dating” with your stylist you’re almost done. Next you indicate how often you want to get boxes and your budget. From there. You simply wait for your first delivery.

Here’s what’s in store.

The boxes are lovingly packed with a personal note and with printed style suggestions. My stylist, Alexandra, even said she checked out my blog and pinterest pages. Whatever she did, she “got me.” I also love the printed cards suggesting outfits ideas: TIP: Keep these and put them up in your closet to make getting dressed easier. Here’s everything from shipment one:

I passed in the v-neck sweater and the silk jacket. The fabrics were too delicate, but I liked the cuts. Interested? Get more details on signing up stitchfix.com Can’t wait to hear if you’ve tried this.
