How to Style a Romper

How to Style a Romper: summer fashion tips

I admit I’m late to the romper trend. My team members love them here at Momtrends (yes Lauren I’m talking to you!). Since I’m all about trying something new, when I saw this floral one-piece I took the chance to figure out how to style a romper.

How to Style a Romper

My first tip on how to style a romper: don’t spend too much. I found this little number for under $100. The Fiesta Romper from cabi is a great pick for summer. It’s got all the color you want to celebrate the season, plus pockets and adjustable straps.

The shorts are 5″ and the waistband is a drawstring—it’s a perfect piece to take on your beach trips. It’s an instant outfit.

You can dress this up with flats or a wedge heel (no stilettos please) and some colorful accessories. I’m still on the hunt for the perfect beach tote—let me know if you have any ideas.

A Little Sparkle

I’m wearing it with some BaubleBar pieces. The bright hues in this bracelet set go with so many of my summer brights. The Havana Pom Pom earrings are now on sale for $18! The perfect touch of summer glam—they are super light too.

And I’ve mentioned these bracelets too—the Suri set is $38 at BaubleBar. Seven in all and a rainbow of colors. Isn’t it nice to only have to spend a total of $60 to get all this style!

Let’s Talk Shoes

I’ve featured these cute tasseled shoes before, but I can’t find them anymore. I found a similar pair, the Pelle Moda® Harah sandal on zappos. I like the neutral color—very versatile for travel.

All the photos were take at the Marina del Rey hotel—the setting was ideal for this romper and a big thanks to photographer Katharine Hauschka for taking on this last-minute project.

Check out more of the cabi spring collection on this post, I just love this brand that connects women with great careers in fashion.

All-American Baby: Adorable Patriotic Outfits for Your Little Ones

penI love a good excuse to dress my kids in theme outfits—and holidays most definitely fit the bill.

The Fourth of July is an especially fun one because of the signature colors and patriotic patterns. (Not to mention the fact that it just feels good to show a little all-American pride on Independence Day!)

My family is all about making the most of every moment during the summer, and we take our Fourth of July weekend plans very seriously. We’ll try to spend as much time as possible enjoying our “freedom” outdoors, frolicking on the beach, lounging by the pool, and embracing the little things that help to make this season so special. After all, isn’t that what Independence Day is all about—celebrating the ability to live out our dreams with our families by our sides.

To honor life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness—as well as BBQs, pool parties, park trips, and picnics—I’ve rounded up a few adorable flag-inspired outfits for babies and toddlers. My little ones and I will be wearing our red, white, and blue all day long with giant smiles on our faces—because freedom, fashion, and good old-fashioned fun in the sun are just a few of our favorite things.

Spring and Summer Romper Roundup

There’s not much cuter than a little lady in a romper…Am I right? And let’s put aside how darn adorable they are for a moment. They’re crazy functional too! If you have an active little lady who’s constantly on the move, rompers are for her! They come in a slew of fun prints and can be as dressed up or dressed down as your kiddo is comfortable with.

Now my daughter is all kinds of girly. Give her pink, ruffles and sparkles and she’s a happy girl. But she’s also just as athletic as her brother. In fact, she got very upset with me recently for not letting her play baseball in a special occasion dress that she happened to be wearing at the time. Haha! So, I try to dress her in clothes that are cute, yet fit for play as often as I can. That way she can move around comfortably, but her look still has the pretty, feminine elements she craves.

Rompers and cropped jumpsuits are just perfect for play time. I don’t have to worry about bloomers to cover her diapers and, more often than not, they’re made out of soft, breathable fabrics like cotton, so they’re made for the heat that comes with late spring and summer weather.

We received a darling little cropped jumpsuit from FabKids that my baby girl can’t get enough of. Neither can I frankly. Isn’t that print just fabulous? You can bet that it will be getting a lot of play this season…Now we just have to pick up a few more one piece outfits to fill out her warm weather wardrobe!

Kids Fashion: Romper Roundup

rompersroundup

If your girls are anything like my daughter, they love to run and play, even though they may be the girliest of girls. My lil’ lady bean has never met a bow or ruffle that she didn’t like, but even when she’s dressed to the nines, that doesn’t stop her from running, jumping and climbing, so unless it’s a special occasion, we tend to stick to pretty rompers for summertime play.

When she’s rockin’ a romper, she can comfortably play to her hearts content and mama doesn’t have to worry about finding bloomers to wear under her dress. Does anyone else feel like bloomers disappear in the wash as much as socks do? Haha! And considering we live in Florida, where it’s sweltering most of the summer, lightweight rompers and bubbles dominate her closet.

I’ve rounded up a bunch of adorable rompers for your baby girls and little ladies. From solids to bold prints, any one of these rompers would be a perfect addition to your girl’s summer wardrobe!

Mini Style Saturday: Summer with Old Navy

Old Navy has long been a favorite shopping haunt of mine (check out our Old Navy fashion profile for moms). I’m always able to find on trend pieces at bargain prices! I especially love shopping there for my kiddos. You mamas know how fast our little ones grow out of their clothes. And if your kids are anything like mine, stains magically appear on their outfits daily.

I don’t mind investing in special pieces, but for every day wear, I’m looking for value. Not only is value important to me, but comfort and quality are too. It’s already hotter than Hades in my neck of the woods and I want to keep my wee ones as comfortable as possible in our sweltering temps. Old Navy makes that possible.

I’m really loving their spring and summer arrivals. Their rompers and sundresses, in particular, are on my radar. My lil’ lady bean is seriously in need of some warm weather ensembles and Old Navy has so much to offer in that department. Cool blues along with punchy pink and coral make for a chic color palette that would look just darling on any little lady! You can bet that my daughter will be prancing around in a few Old Navy rompers and sundresses very soon…Now I just need to accessorize her. I see some sandals and sunnies in her near future! Just sayin’.

So, tell me…Have you checked out Old Navy’s adorable warm weather collection yet? What are your favorite pieces? Inquiring minds want to know!
