I know festival fashion is really trendy right now. I also know that most of the fashions are more suitable for the teens and tweens out there. But what if you are over 30 and still love to listen to your jam? I say don’t stop going to music festivals and don’t stop bringing style to them. You can pull off looking cool with this outfit ideal for those of us over 30 who want to wear music-festival fashions.
I headed up to Tremblant this weekend to catch the Tremblant Blues Festival and take in the summer offerings up at the resort. It’s quite easy to get there from NYC and the world-class music is happening from July 8 to 17 of 2017. In all, there are more than 100 free shows! Get the scoop, here: https://blues.tremblant.ca/en/
To find a fun new outfit, I popped into La Raffinerie where I met Roxanne there and she walked me through the boutique. The shop is right on the “main street” of Tremblant Rue des Remparts. It’s a mix of local designers and brands I know and love (like Free People).
Musical Festival Fashions
Graphic tees are perfect for all ages. Just pick the right message. Def Leppard (though I love them) is now being worn by all my daughter’s tween friends. I opted for the upscale French version – Femme Moderne. It’s from a local Quebec designer and I think it’s going to get worn on heavy rotation.
Add a flowing skirt like this one, and you’ve continued to embrace the boho-chic look without looking like a fashion victim. Roxanne nailed it when she assorted her store. It’s really easy to shop and mix up brands–and that’s how I love to dress.
This outfit can just as easily be worn to a museum of dinner out–it’s great for travel, but I mostly love it for the romantic vibe it gives off. When you want to dance or move from venue to venue you want cool comfort.
What do you think? Are you heading to any festivals this summer? What are you planning to wear? Keep me posted!
