We are starting to move into holiday party season and whether you'll be attending an annual office party, a fundraising benefit or holiday ball, having a fabulous party dress is a closet "must have." I wanted to find a party dress that would separate from all the others, I thought about a bold color, dramatic length, or even a patterned dress but then I decided to focus on a feature instead.
I chose to go with the ever-flattering one shoulder party dress.

One shoulder dresses seem to be sexy without being too revealing, sophisticated without being stiff and attractive without being too flashy. One shoulder dresses are unexpected, ooze style, and look great on a variety of figures.
I always feel much more comfortable in a one shoulder dress than I do a dress that's strapless. With a one-shoulder, I don't feel the need to pull and tug on my dress (this is never attractive) and I always feel confident and ready to hit the dance floor!
Of course, as with any dress, you'll need the appropriate undergarments (be mindful of color, lines, texture-all of which can ruin a perfect party dress) and I recommend prepping your skin as well. Think loofah, sugar scrub and a luxurious non-greasy cream to make your skin picture party ready. A dab of bronzer with a hint of shimmer is always a nice surprise when applied to the decolletage that's going to draw all the attention.
My top pick? This Metallic, Jersey one shoulder dress by Maggy London ticks all of my boxes. It has the shimmer that makes any party dress feel special, a flattering cut, a length that works for any occasion, and a waist defining belt for added interest and it is priced under $150 making it my top pick for this holiday party season!
