While your four year old is creating messy mayhem in your home, this 4 year old Ohio girl is creating high fashion. Mayhem took the world by storm by making paper versions of red carpet dresses worn by celebrities. No offense, adults, but in many instances we prefer Mayhem's version. Okay, so maybe her parents helped a bit.
J.Crew recently announced Fashion by Mayhem for Crewcuts to debut in spring 2015. The small collection will include 9 pieces. All of the items are under $100 dollars, starting at just $22.50, and includes clothing, shoes and accessories.
Mayhem designed an exclusive collection using her arts and crafts skills and the J.Crew designers turned her paper creations into real pieces.
Here are some photos from Mayhem's visit to New York with Jenna Lyons, President and Creative Director of J.Crew, and Jenny Cooper, Head of Crewcuts Design.
"When we met with Mayhem for the first time we were really curious to see how she would work and were amazed to watch this barely 4 year old girl start meticulously folding the pleats on a skirt and placing stones very specifically and carefully on a top she had just fashioned around herself," Cooper said. "She has such an inventive and creative personality that really resonated with us. It was great to have a truly creative child be at the heart of the design process. "
We love Crewcuts for its high-quality, classic pieces for our kids - and we can't wait to see the entire Mayhem x J.Crew collection. We'll keep you updated on the launch of the collection and its availability at Crewcuts later in the spring.
