Just when you thought J.Crew style couldn't get any cooler, the brand has launched an exclusive collection of graphic tees for its kids brand, Crewcuts, inspired by the American Museum of Natural History. Crewcuts designers were granted never before allowed access to the Museum archives to find inspiration for the cool tees. The designers and their kids celebrated the launch with a Field Trip to the Museum - we love the behind the scenes look at how the perfectly modern tees were inspired by the history found within the Museum.
Crewcuts designer Jenny Cooper said, “We were so excited to have special access to the American Museum of Natural History's back rooms, archives and scholars to help us design the tees. Each tee was vetted by the respective experts in the Museum and we felt like we were learning as we went. It was an honor to be the first brand able to go through these historic archives for inspiration for the tees.”
A visit to the Akeley Hall of African Mammals inspired the leopard tee. We love the front and back tee design.
Senior Business Development for the Museum Sharon Stulberg added, "We are very happy to announce this project and to bring this unique collection of children’s t-shirts to both J.Crew’s and the Museum’s young fans. Inspired by science and the Museum’s iconic halls and archives, the crewcuts design team created fun and engaging t-shirts highlighting images and facts from our library and our exhibits. The content and the images were reviewed by Museum curators. We hope that these great t-shirts will be a source of pride and inspiration for the young scientists who wear them.”
