It's the season of travel, and I need great fashion pieces that can keep up with me. I've got a slew of flights, train trips and car trips and I want to be comfortable while also looking pulled together. I always try to stock my closet with clothes that WORK. After 40 years of dressing myself, I have amassed a wardrobe full of pieces that can handle 3 hour plane delays (thank you Delta for the repeated delays out of Burlington, Vermont, ugh!).
Oxfords with Style
Let's start with shoes; sure the easy way to go is to wear a sneaker. But you don't always have to wear athleisure to keep your feet happy.
I'm wearing the Riddoch oxford from EMU Australia. This buttery soft lace up flat can go the distance...literally. I've walked for miles in these 100% leather flat. The Riddoch features a comfy, cushioned footbed, stitched leather welt and a very low heel. It comes in three colors, but I love the midnight. Shop the Riddoch at Emu Australia here.
Nothing is cozier than a scarf. Plus this accessory easily turns clothes into an outfit. This one is from Talbots, I love the color blocking on it. For more blanket scarves, head here for our favorite picks that are $20 and under. And for styling tips, check out this video:
I know these scarves can be a little bulky and tricky to style. Be patient, the warmth is worth the effort!
I opt for denim on top and a sturdy fabric on the bottom. I have the cabi clothing traveler pant on, this pant is now three years old and it keeps getting softer and better. I like the thinner leg on the pant and the olive color.
I topped it off with a Levi's denim jacket. It's got a stretch to it and I love the trim fit. Everyone needs a denim jacket like this in her closet.
