Vail Resorts Opening Dates for 2024-25 Ski Season
Vail Resorts today announced the opening dates of its North American resorts. If things go according to plan, Keystone in Colorado will be the first to host skiers and riders this winter. Vail's opening dates for the 2024-25 ski and riding season are subject to change due to weather, but right now they are in major planning mode. Now is the time to start planning and get that Epic Pass before prices rise September 2.

Epic Pass shares 2024-5 Opening Dates for Skiing
The season will kick off at Keystone Resort, with an early-as-possible opening scheduled for October, contingent on Mother Nature and some added assistance from the resort’s state-of-the-art, energy-efficient snowmaking system. The rest of Vail Resorts’ resorts located in the Rocky Mountains and West plan to open by December 1*, giving Pass Holders and guests an opportunity to maximize their time on the mountain all winter long.

- November 15: Vail Mountain, CO
- November 22: Whistler Blackcomb, BC, Heavenly, CA, Northstar, CA, Park City Mountain, UT
- November 27: Beaver Creek, CO, Crested Butte, CO
- December 6: Kirkwood, CA, Stevens Pass, WA

Get Your Epic Pass
Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2, is the deadline to lock in an Epic Pass before prices increase. Guests planning to visit this winter – whether one day or every day – are encouraged to purchase their lift access online in advance to save big on skiing and riding. For instance, Epic Day Passes offer up to 65% off when compared to a lift ticket. Compare all Epic Pass offerings, including regional passes, on the Epic Pass website.
2024-25 Pass Options
- Epic Pass ($1,004) offers unlimited, unrestricted access to world-class mountain resorts including Vail Mountain, Breckenridge, Whistler Blackcomb, Park City Mountain, Heavenly, Northstar and Stowe. Take your Epic Pass abroad to visit Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis and Crans-Montana Mountain Resort in the Swiss Alps. With additional partner resorts like Telluride in Colorado and Hakuba Valley in Japan, the Epic Pass unlocks access to more than 80 resorts worldwide.
- Epic Local Pass ($746) provides unlimited, unrestricted access to 29 resorts including Breckenridge, Keystone and Crested Butte. Epic Local Pass Holders also receive season-long access to Park City Mountain, Heavenly, Northstar and more, in addition to 10 combined days of access to Vail Mountain, Whistler Blackcomb and Beaver Creek, excluding restricted peak dates.
- Epic Day Pass (as low as $44-$95 per day) offers skiers and riders the ability to build their own pass – choosing 1-7 days to use throughout the season. Epic Day Passes provide up to 65% savings compared to lift ticket prices. Ski and ride for as low as $95 per day at resorts like Vail Mountain, and as low as $73 per day at resorts like Keystone, Heavenly and Stowe.
- Specialty Passes are available including active and retired Military and their dependents ($177), Veterans and their dependents ($573), College ($675) and Adaptive Passes ($492) that offer access to 42 resorts at a discount.
