Zebras, leopards and giraffes, oh my! Animal prints are a H-O-T trend for fall. For little girls, I'm smitten with the swingy coat I spotted at Skipping Hippos. Kelly's Vintage Cheetah print coat has a to-die-for fuchsia lining and a fabulous swingy silhouette (starting at: $100). I put this on my pint-sized diva and she was in heaven (this in spite of the fact that it was 90 degrees when the sample arrived). She and I were so sad this fun faux fur had to be closeted until the brisk weather arrived. You can also find this leopard print in the original poncho ($46) on Skipping Hippos.
Time to move on to shoes. These Tortoise flats from Crewcuts are too cute (note: not to be worn with the coat). $108--yikes there goes the back to school budget.
Now take my advice: A little print goes a long way in the fall wardrobe. More than one print will look simply inappropriate.
As for mom, I swoon for printed flats. Since I wear a lot of dark colors in the fall, flats like these Kate Spade Leopard Haircalf ($254) can really update my look. And check out this sexy sheath from Ann Taylor $160.
